Corporations as Giant people, granted suzerainty thru a monopoly of economic domain, which projects power thru the marketplace thru cult, propaganda, and political clout

originally aired in early 2018
"As hundreds of millions of Chinese steadily rise into the middle class, no company wants to miss out on that lucrative commercial opportunity. But that also means increasingly accepting China’s view of the world over Washington’s."

I loved this inclusion of geopolitics and consumer purchasing power. Still remarkable is the idea of China in all this from a conceptual standpoint. Here you have a nation on which so many axioms rest, which seem to contradict one another and continues to defy odds, and in turn our a priori reasoning. For example many definitions of the Nation-State of Taiwan exist. The state of that Nation whereby it finds its sovereignty tied to China, de jure, but de facto it operates as a lesser sovereign economically, because while it is protected politically from the force of military occupation thru its trade networks it has in some ways become part of a Protectorate, where who it is and how it functions is at the mercy of other Nation-States who have the largesse to determine how Taiwan can act.

One has to consider the amount of power Corporations have to shape the political landscape and how easily the profit motive has undermined the suffrage of nations, and this contradiction is the same gate that China may now enter by using Consumerism as a weapon against national integrity and cultural identity.

Large, multinational corporations today have brought back the our conscious understanding the idea of suzerainty, wherein a corporation's only duty is to create profit for its shareholders has elevated it to a level of a state actor, and due to its economic influence acts as a lesser sovereign within its monopolistic domain, creating internal, self-subsisting networks, based on its appetite, which create corporate cultures and political agendas that go against our own Constitution, creating two contexts for the Law to be administered in order to maximize State power and Corporate profit. The state of a Nation, and the nation of the State, become ever more important when considering the effects of foreign investment and global capital on the political landscape. Maybe I've missed the mark or have my concepts out of order, but the reality I see is that each private citizen is already a corporation, just as the corporation is a person, transposed.

We've reached a new kind of Triffin dilemma, where provisions given to large multinational corporations come at the cost of our personal liberty and suffrage. We need to update our definitions on how the world is actually operating, or at least highlight real abridgements that the average person has in the legislative process.  but this one seeks to update the ways we think about "de jure" "de facto" "sovereignty" and "suffrage", because as it stands now Corporations are considered people. All it takes is time to widen what that actually means, but not before we are engulfed in culture and political unrest due to the saturation of capital, subsidy, and protectionism needed to create corporate giants.
